Fire-fighting

Initial situation

The work consisted of replacing the pumps in the external fire-fighting system. The pumps are operated by drawing seawater from the nearby basin.

Caprari solution

2 vertical lineshaft pumps powered by diesel engine

Benefit obtained

The entire system was built and modernised through an Australian OEM. At the heart of the system are two vertical lineshaft fire-fighting pumps powered by diesel engines, which draw water from the nearby sea.
Caprari operates in the System Integrator field, ensuring fire-fighting professionals reliable solutions that comply with the functionality and controls laid down by the rules governing their implementation.
The main benefits include:

  • High performance from the pumps which allows the construction of extremely compact fire-fighting units, characterised by high energy saving and reduced dimensions.
  • Maintenance is simple and fast, and ensures the systems function properly when needed with constant checks.
  • Optimal and continuous performance. The pump characteristic curve is stable as required by this type of installation.
  • Innovative construction solutions and a wide range of products available contribute to the construction of extremely reliable electric pumps and make them the ideal solution for fire-fighting systems. For example, the components’ high thicknesses and the bearings’ generous sizing ensure great robustness and long service life.
